I am very honoured to have been invited as a panelist in Forum 2 of the International Conference on Philosophy and Leadership with the theme “Navigating a Complex World with Ethical Governance”, which was held to coincide with the Celebration of World Philosophy Day 2025.
This opportunity is a profound honor as well as an intellectual responsibility to participate in a global conversation about the direction and meaning of education in the midst of the moral and humanitarian crises that have hit the modern world. In this forum, I had the opportunity to present a paper entitled “The Crisis of Meaning in Education: A Study of Transcendental Humanism.” This study departs from the concern about the fading of the dimension of meaning in education which is often trapped in pragmatic and instrumental orientations.
Through the perspective of transcendental humanism, I try to retrace the philosophical basis of education as a space for the formation of the whole human being—a human being who is not only intellectually intelligent, but also rooted in universal moral, spiritual, and human values. I believe that education based on philosophy and transcendental values can be a way to foster ethical awareness and restore the noble purpose of education as a means of liberation and enlightenment.
I would also like to express my high appreciation to the conference organizers who have provided a reflective and dialogical space for thinkers and practitioners from various backgrounds to jointly seek new directions for ethical governance and a more dignified humanity. Hopefully, this conference will be an important momentum to strengthen the bridge between philosophy, leadership, and education in the face of the challenges of an increasingly complex world
