Mr. Khusaini Bin Sahari
Secretary - WPF Malaysia
All praise be to Allah SWT, whose grace enables us to celebrate World Philosophy Day 2025 under the theme “Philosophy and Leadership: Navigating a Complex World with Ethical Governance.” This theme underscores the urgent call for wisdom, justice, and values in addressing today’s global challenges and uncertainties.
Philosophy is the realm of reflection that guides humanity to understand the self, the universe, and the purpose of life. As Allah Almighty declares: “Do they not reflect upon themselves? Allah created not the heavens, the earth, and all that is between them except in truth and for an appointed term.” (Surah al-Rum: 8). This verse reminds us that deep reflection is the foundation of understanding and the pathway to truth.
The celebration of World Philosophy Day provides a meaningful space for dialogue, exchange of ideas, and critical discourse among scholars, thinkers, and the international community. It reinforces the values of tolerance, mutual understanding, and the building of a civilisation rooted in wisdom. As Allah Almighty affirms: “He grants wisdom to whom He wills, and whoever has been granted wisdom has certainly been given much good.” (Surah al-Baqarah: 269).I am confident that this gathering will foster networks of thought that nurture a culture of knowledge and elevate philosophy as a compass for shaping a just, prosperous, and harmonious future.
I extend my heartfelt gratitude to Yayasan Gual Periok, WPF Malaysia, the Institute of Qur’anic Philosophy, and our partners—the World Philosophical Forum and WPF University—for their noble dedication. To all participants, your presence embodies our shared commitment to truth, wisdom, and ethical progress.
May this noble effort uplift the role of philosophy as a guiding light for universal harmony and justice.
