Dato' Prof. Dr. Nik Maheran binti Nik Muhammad
Faculty Of Entrepreneurship and Business, UMK
It is a privilege for me to contribute this foreword to the World Philosophy Forum (WPF), which will be held on 20th November. WPF has always been close to my heart, not only as a platform for global philosophical exchange but also as a space where meaningful friendships and ideas are nurtured.
My journey with WPF began in 2016, when I was invited by the late Professor Halo-N together with Yayasan Gual Periok. Professor Halo-N was more than a philosopher; he was a man of vision, humility, and deep humanity. His writings reflect a lifelong commitment to the search for wisdom and the betterment of society. Through his work, he reminded us that philosophy is not distant or abstract, but something that should guide our daily lives, our choices, and our responsibilities to one another. His passing was a profound loss, but his legacy continues to inspire the WPF community and beyond.
I was later entrusted by him with the role of Consultant Advisor for the WPF Malaysia. This appointment has been both an honor and a responsibility, allowing me to contribute in a small way to the larger mission of WPF: cultivating dialogue, mutual respect, and a deeper understanding of our shared humanity.
As we gather once again this year, I am reminded of the values that drew me to WPF in the first place, its inclusiveness, its courage to ask difficult questions, and its belief that philosophy can light the path toward peace and harmony. May this Forum continue to carry forward the noble spirit of late Professor Halo-N and strengthen our collective journey toward a more thoughtful and compassionate world.
