Leader Message – Dr. Hasbullah

Dr. Hasbullah Zakaria
Chairman, Gual Periok Foundation

At the outset, I wish to extend my heartfelt congratulations and gratitude to the World Philosophical Forum, Gual Periok Foundation, WPF Malaysia Organization, and the Institute of al-Quranic Philosophy for their noble collaboration in shaping a global initiative that aspires to foster unity and envision a world of peace, harmony, and shared well-being.

On this occasion, I pay heartfelt tribute to the late Dato’ Philosopher D’Outreach Prof. Dr. Halo-N Badii’uzzaman, whose far-sighted vision first introduced the philosophy of the Qur’an to the world. His passing leaves us with a profound sense of loss, yet his legacy is not a memory to be mourned alone—it is a mandate for the future. His pioneering ideas call upon us, the global community of thinkers, leaders, and seekers of truth, to rise together and carry forward his vision. In doing so, we honour his memory not with silence, but with action: by nurturing al-Quranic Philosophy as a practical force for ethical governance, compassion, and the well-being of all humanity.

The establishment of international cooperation through the World Philosophical Forum creates invaluable space for the convergence of thought, knowledge, and experience. Such convergence is essential for developing philosophies of outreach and development that can address the pressing challenges of humanity and guide us toward meaningful solutions.

Al-Quranic Philosophy offers life-guiding principles that cultivate the essence of humanity and awaken within us the true wealth called “humanity” itself. It is a solution much sought after in a world that increasingly recognises the potential of the Qur’an and its philosophy as a foundation for unity, peace, and prosperity.

Malaysia, through Gual Periok Foundation, WPF Malaysia Organization, and the Institute of al-Quranic Philosophy, is honoured to contribute to this noble mission by convening today’s programme: “Philosophy & Leadership: Navigating a Complex World with Ethical Governance”, alongside the convocation ceremony for graduates of the Advanced Diploma in al-Quranic Philosophy conferred by WPF University. Since its inception in 2022, this programme has produced its first cohort of 14 graduates, and this year, another 17 graduates stand as torchbearers of a vision to apply al-Quranic Philosophy not as religious dogma, but as a practical attire of life. Their emergence is not a dream but a reality—one that carries the potential to spread across the world and become a movement for peace and harmony, in line with the WPF motto: “Wisdom and Morality Improve Humanity.”

May this collaboration between the World Philosophical Forum, Gual Periok Foundation, WPF Malaysia Organization, the Institute of al-Quranic Philosophy, and future international partners inspire collective resolve to manifest the ideals of peace and the dignity of universal humanity.

World Philosophy Day, as warmly embraced by UNESCO since its proclamation at the 33rd General Conference in Paris (2005), is celebrated worldwide on the third Thursday of every November.

I extend my best wishes for a successful assembly and congratulate all on the celebration of World Philosophy Day, 20 November 2025, Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia.
