This year marks the first time that World Philosophy Day is held without the presence of the late Dato’ Philosopher D’Outreach Prof. Dr. Halo-N Badii’uzzaman, Founder of WPF Malaysia. His vision and dedication had laid the foundation for our movement, and today we honour his memory by continuing the path he so courageously began. His absence is deeply felt, yet his legacy remains a guiding light for us all.
To bring World Philosophy Day 2025 into reality required both strength and courage. Without these qualities, no programme of such magnitude can be sustained. It is through collective determination and a spirit of resilience that we have succeeded in hosting this gathering, bringing together minds from across nations and cultures. The wide participation of international delegates this year is a testament to the enduring relevance of philosophy in a world that seeks wisdom and direction.
But every occasion must be more than an event. Each gathering should leave behind a lesson—a deposit of wisdom that future generations can inherit. Philosophy, when lived and applied, is not confined to discussion halls; it becomes the seed of values that will shape tomorrow’s leaders. As the Qur’an reminds us, the pursuit of truth, careful reflection before action, and the continuous search for knowledge are universal principles that ensure human endeavours remain relevant and meaningful.
Let us therefore ensure that World Philosophy Day 2025 stands not only as a celebration, but also as a living legacy. May it remind us that philosophy and leadership are inseparable, and that the courage to seek truth and relevance is the true foundation of ethical governance for generations to come.
