Mr. Radhuan Hishamuddin Hasbullah
Committee Member, Gual Periok Foundation
First and foremost, I extend a warm welcome to all delegates from around the world who have come to Malaysia to celebrate World Philosophy Day 2025 at the Renaissance Hotel, Kuala Lumpur. This event gathers participants from diverse backgrounds—philanthropists, corporate leaders, educators, entrepreneurs, and political figures. The presence of such distinguished individuals brings a positive aura to our nation, reflecting Malaysia’s role as a host that upholds philosophy as a means of embracing diverse intellectual knowledge and perspectives.
This celebration is not only a meeting of minds but also a platform for dialogue across cultures and disciplines, enabling us to reflect on pressing global challenges, including wars and humanitarian crises. By promoting such discourse, we hope to encourage solutions rooted in wisdom, cooperation, and shared human values.
Malaysia is proud to host this meaningful event for the fourth time. Through conferences, dialogues, and forums involving both local and international experts, we continue to affirm philosophy as a guiding principle for national progress and as a path toward peace for humanity. In doing so, this gathering connects people across continents—Europe, Africa, the Americas, the Middle East, and the Asia Pacific—strengthening our bonds as a global community. In today’s world, it is vital to nurture not only intellectual minds but also noble human character.
When philosophy is applied in daily life, it cultivates appreciation, compassion, and mutual support. Nations grow strong when they invest in the well-being of their people—through quality education, sound infrastructure, and economic opportunities that enable families to thrive. Ultimately, philosophy serves as a unifying force, guiding us toward a respectful and harmonious society. May this celebration inspire us all to embrace wisdom as the foundation for peace and shared prosperity.
